The Galleon house plan was chosen as one of the homes featured in the first annual Naples Florida Women’s Club kitchen tour.  This charity kitchen tour featured several homes in the affluent Port Royal community, benefiting the Naples Historical Society, Naples Women’s Clun and Baby Basics. The event showcased some of the many exceptional kitchens in the Naples area and raised money for the charities. Below are some photos of the contemporary house that was featured.  The homeowners did a great job with all of their finishes and BCB Homes did a great job in the execution of the house design.

You built it where? Although we are located in Naples, Florida we sell our house plans all over the country and all over the world.  For example, a large portion of our home plans are sold to the great state of Texas!  Texas, like Florida is also bordered by the Gulf of Mexico so our coastal house plans are popular, but Texas is a big state, and the homeowners and developers of the inland lots have great interest in our Mediterranean house plans. These inland lots do not need house plans that are built with concrete blocks; therefore, we modify them to be built as wood frame construction. Another option some Texas home owners prefer is adding a ledge to incorporate brick to the exterior of the homes.   Below...

Client update on house plan purchase The Yucatan Peninsula located in SE Mexico between the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea enjoys a year round climate that is hot and humid.  This region has a deep cultural heritage that is still prevalent today, including some houses built with straw rooftops. Although our client had us make some changes to our Cordova house plan, changing the roof to straw was not one of them.  We did though, increase the covered lanai to help to shade the house from the strong Caribbean sun and add an outdoor fireplace & outdoor kitchen for more al fresco dining options.

First, let us explain what exactly is “ICF” – the acronym refers to Insulated Concrete Forms – which are essentially foam blocks that interlock, are dry stacked (without mortar) and then filled with concrete. Similar to a Lego toy, the modular foam blocks create the form for the structural walls of an ICF House Plan.  The hollow centers are filled with concrete which is reinforced using steel reinforcing bars to give the concrete flexural strength.

Style Spotlight:  West Indies The West Indies style of architecture is a huge trend right now hitting new home design in Southwest Florida and other parts of Florida.  Since Weber Design Group began designing homes over twenty years ago, we have seen many Architectural trends come and go, but West Indies is certainly making a strong impact especially on the coastal and inter-coastal communities here.  We are also seeing this style being blended with the Key West Architecture that is not too far away.  It is really not surprising at all that folks would want to design a residence that mimics an island getaway, and you won’t find a more perfect place to do it than Naples Florida.  Architects here, such as Weber Design Group, are certainly taking notice...
