Uniquely Themed Tuscan style house plan
The architects and designers here at Weber Design Group have been designing custom luxury homes throughout Southwest Florida and all over the United States for over 20 years. We were excited for the opportunity to work with a client from North Carolina whose passion for her children and their love of all things equestrian took top priority in the custom design of their new lakefront home.
This unique three-story house plan optimizes the luxury of waterfront living with stunning lake views from practically every room. The overall style is greatly influenced by a rustic, Tuscan style horse stable with the use of cedar brackets and corbels, stucco and precast and two flanking garages that include a faux hayloft door capped by cedar trellises.
This lakefront house plan offers 16,783 square feet with six bedrooms including a master and junior master suite, a study, formal living and dining rooms, a large gourmet kitchen that features double islands and a baking kitchen/walk-in pantry, a “drive-in” themed theatre, a craft room, game room, exercise room, three separate playrooms and even an indoor slide. This home has numerous covered balconies, an elaborate outdoor living area and a 5-car garage.
The home’s main entry opens up to a spacious layout with the dining room off to your immediate right from a foyer that spills over into a formal living room that includes a fireplace and a grand radial staircase that spans all three levels with a multi-tiered coffered ceiling that incorporates decorative scroll cut wood beams. The expansive water views of the lake catch your eye right away with the circular mitered glass window allowing for the natural light to pour through.
To the right of the formal living room is the combined kitchen, dinette and casual family room featuring sliding glass doors that pocket behind yet another fireplace and mantle where directly above, a mounted television hangs like a family photo. The kitchen features a large Wolf gas cooktop with a stone hood that’s flanked by windows behind beautiful glass door cabinets thus allowing more natural light into the kitchen while showcasing the homeowner’s favorite china and crystal. Off the kitchen and towards the garage is a large utility room with not one, but two stacking washer and dryer combos, an fully equipped doggie kennel that includes grooming quarters and a private entrance from the dog run area, a mud room and an exquisite powder bath for visitors that features a copper dome ceiling and high glass windows above the mirror for added opulence.
The master quarters take up the entire right side of the main level with a formal study, his and her walk-in closets, a morning bar and the master bath area. A see-through fireplace connects the study with the master bedroom while another see-through fireplace and see-through television can be found in the master bathroom between the large oval bath tub and walk-in steam shower with a floor to ceiling window. A surprising and distinctive feature right off this spa like master bathroom is a private outdoor bathing area that features a trellis covered garden, a bath tub and even another shower.
The exciting upstairs level of this house plan is dedicated to the children with three large bedrooms, each having their own walk-in closet and full bathroom. Refurbished barn doors lead out into an open loft play area with a children’s slide that spills out downstairs near the kitchen. Built into various locations throughout this level are “hidden cubby holes” for the children to hide their valuables and a special cut-out “window” that connects two of the bedrooms. There’s also a separate playroom left of the staircase and a craft room just for mom with her very own private balcony and spiral staircase that leads down to the master study.
From the children’s quarters, hop on the elevator and ride down to the lowest level to enjoy all the amenities the theatre has to offer. With tiered seating for optimal viewing pleasure, this “drive-in” barn themed theatre comes with an actual truck bed for lying down and watching movies, concession stand with soda machine, popcorn maker and candy counter and an overhead hayloft. Next door, the game room offers even more fun with its adjacent television walls, pool table, foosball table, a kitchenette and plenty of room for multiple couches. The lower level of this house plan also features a junior master suite perfect for out-of-town guests, an additional guest bedroom and bath, another living room, exercise room with floor to ceiling mirrors and direct access to the incredible outdoor entertaining area.
The rear covered lanai is where you’ll want to spend your time! It not only offers a fireplace and a full sit down bar complete with an outdoor kitchen but it even has a hanging queen-size bed swing. The beach entrance swimming pool features a 360° spill over spa, sun shelf and a multi-tiered spill over with catch basin. Walk down from the pool area just a few steps to where a sunken fire pit is surrounded by a large sectional lounge area great for a night cap or s’mores with the kids. And to complete this extravagant outdoor experience, a roll-down, double sided movie screen is nestled between two columns and is visible from every angle outside so you can watch a movie directly from the lake.
Most of the design elements of this home plan focused on the children and incorporating the family’s love of horses. The design features provide as much fun as possible for the children while its functionality will allow the house to grow alongside them. It was a great project that really exceeded all of our expectations!
