Start with the kitchen. This is the true hub of the home. It should connect naturally to the main living areas and allow for easy movement. A well-designed kitchen creates flow, improves functionality, and keeps everyone connected. When the kitchen works, the entire house plan works better.
Next is the great room. This is where daily life happens. It needs to feel open but still comfortable. Pay attention to how furniture fits, how natural light enters, and how the space connects to outdoor living. A great room that feels too tight or too disconnected will limit how the home lives.
Finally, focus on the primary suite. This space should feel private and separate from the main living areas. It should also connect easily to the bathroom and closet. In many well-designed house plans, the primary suite also takes advantage of views or direct outdoor access, which adds to both comfort and livability.
